LG is expected to upgrade its WebOS for Smart TVs from version 3.5 to 4.0 in 2018. The new version will focused on "connectivity" that will form Smart Home enviroment, IoT (Internet of Things) and will arrive with AI (Artificial Intelligence) assistant and voice recognition for voice commands.

My Wishlist of bug fixes that HP should be looking to bring to this WebOS 3.0.6 update: 1) Bring folders to WebOS. (the BB playbook and iOS have that feature). 2) Fix the bug that causes the HP TouchPad speakers, to suddenly create muffle or muddy sound.
The faster system chip in webOS 3.5 will make the TVs turn on quicker, says LG. There is new bluetooth chip on board (LG is switching from Broadcom to MediaTek), which will improve speed and range. Unfortunately the consequence of this transition is that the new remote will not work on previews webOS-powered TVs – and vice versa.
